Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY –The HERSHEY BEARS are proud to announce that Eric Perrin has been named the BEARS' winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the central Pennsylvania community and charitable organizations during the 2004-05 season.

Before the 2004-2005 season started Eric purchased 5 full season tickets that he donated to the Hershey Ronald McDonald House. After every home game, win or lose, Eric meets with the family who used his tickets to sign autographs and bring a smile to the family's face. Eric also was involved in numerous school appearances, hospital visits and other community efforts throughout the season.

In recognition of his efforts, Perrin will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming BEARS home game.

Perrin is now one of 28 finalists for the 2004-05 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia.

The BEARS travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the Penguins before returning to GIANT Center for the final two home games of the 2004-05 regular season this weekend. HERSHEY will face Philadelphia Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. before facing off with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for both games are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 534-3911.
