
Amerks add Cornell center Mike Iggulden

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has signed Cornell University center Mike Iggulden (igg-GULL-den) to an amateur tryout contract.
Iggulden, 22, just recently finished his college career with the Cornell Big Red. This season, the Big Red finished with a 27-5-3 overall record and an .814 winning percentage, which led the nation. Cornell also earned its third ECAC Hockey League regular-season title in four years, its second ECACHL tournament title in three years and its fourth consecutive Ivy League championship. In addition, the team appeared in the NCAA tournament for the third time in four years, falling just short of their second Frozen Four in three seasons.
The native of St. Catharines, Ontario, finished his senior season with 10 goals and eight assists in 35 games. Six of his 10 goals were game-winners and four were shorthanded. At Cornell, the 6-3, 212-pound forward collected 13 goals, 21 assists and 43 penalty minutes in 110 games.
Iggulden practiced with the Amerks today and will hit the road with the team for two games this weekend. Rochester begins a five-game in eight-night stretch Friday, April 8th at the Broome County Arena against the Binghamton Senators. The contest will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and amerks.com.
On Saturday, April 9th, the Amerks battle the Syracuse Crunch at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Rochester owns a 6-2-0-2 mark against the Crunch this season. The contest will be broadcast on WHTK 1280-AM and amerks.com.
