April 5, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Utah Grizzlies News Release

The Utah Grizzlies are proud to announce that Sheldon Keefe has been named the Grizzlies* winner of the American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the greater Salt Lake Valley community and charitable organizations during the 2004-05 season.

Keefe was the leader of the Grizzlies *Go For The Goal* program that taught area elementary school children life lessons including stay in school, say no to drugs and strive for academic excellence. In addition, Sheldon participated in numerous stops on the *Gather with the Grizzlies* library reading tour and was the point player for the Grizzlies holiday hospital gift presentations and also worked with the Ronald McDonald House during the holidays serving food to needy children.

In recognition for his efforts, Keefe will be presented with an etched crystal trophy during an on-ice presentation prior to an upcoming Grizzlies home game.

Keefe is now one of 28 finalists for the 2004-05 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall American Specialty/AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia.
