Barrett Heisten, Gavin Morgan, David Gosselin and Jeff Bateman scored goals for the Grizzlies. The win marked just the second time this season the Grizzlies came back to win a game after trailing thru two periods of play. On Friday night, the shoe was on the other foot as it was the Grizzlies who had the lead in the third period only to watch it slip away as the Houston Aero's scored a pair of late goals to gain the victory. Steve Gainey tied the game for Utah in the second period and Greg Hawgood gave Utah the lead early on in the third period. Facing a 2-1 deficit, the Aeros got goals from Travis Roche and Mark Cullen securing the victory. The win set the tone for the three-game series that was to be played over the course of the weekend. The Aeros continued their dominance of the Grizzlies on Saturday night behind a 6-0 shutout effort by Johan Holmqvist. The newly acquired netminder made 28 saves earning his first shutout as a member of the Aeros. Dan Cavanaugh scored a pair of goals for Houston including a shorthanded goal that started off the scoring. Jean-Guy Trudel added a pair of assists and Hnat Dominichelli contributed three helpers. Utah's only victory on the night came in the PIM's department where they collected their second highest single game total of the season notching 71 total minutes. With the victory, the Aeros improved to 7-2 on the season versus the Grizzlies. On Sunday, Utah broke the spell cast over them by the Aeros as they battled their way to a 4-2 victory. The power play for Utah went 3 for 6 and they killed all seven power play chances for the Aeros. Justin Cox and David Gosselin scored first period power play goals giving Utah the 2-1 lead after the first period. Greg Hawgood added a goal in the second period, which would prove to be the eventual game winner. Barrett Heisten added a late empty-net goal while on the power play.
