The Inferno will play the winner of the Florida vs. Greenville Wild Card Game that will be played on Tuesday, April 1st in Florida.

Robin Carruthers had the lone goal for the Inferno as they dropped to Florida 3-1. Barrie Moore and Rejean Stringer assisted at 1:08 of the second period. The Inferno had 26 shots on goal and was 0-9 on the power play. Patrick Couture stopped 26 of 29 shots on goal.
Saturday, March 29th COLUMBIA 6 Florida 5 (SO) @ Florida
Florida came out fighting three seconds into the game when Brian Goudie dropped his gloves to square off against Dennis Vial. Florida set a franchise record of 79 penalty minutes vs. Columbia's 43. Robin Carruthers and Shawn Wansborough each scored a goal in the first period as Columbia was up 2-1. Rejean Stringer scored at 18:55 of the second period to tie the game at three. Clint Way scored his fourth goal of the season at 4:23 of the third period and Robin Carruthers tied the game at 15:58. After a scoreless overtime, Moore scored in the shootout. Josh Blackburn was in goal stopping 40 of 45 shots and stopping all five shots in the shootout.

The Inferno clinched the Southern Conference this past week which means Columbia will have home ice advantage throughout the Southern Conference playoffs...The Inferno finished the regular season with their best record all-time 47-23-2 (96 points) and finished third in the league...Rejean Stringer finished as the all-time Inferno scorer with 96 points (37g-59a) and also is second in the league among scorers...Barrie Moore had six assists in his last four games...Chris St. Croix had six assists in his last five games.
