Upcoming week of March 31st - April 6th:
· Monday, March 31st - Tonight is the second Time Warner Cable, The Bakersfield Californian, and John's Incredible Pizza Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club Meet the Team pizza party. Condors players such as Shawn Byram, J.J. Wrobel, and Kevin St. Pierre will be joined by their teammates at John's Incredible Pizza from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm as members of the 2002-2003 Kids Club will have the chance to meet, get autographs, and play games with their favorite Condors players. The admission is just $6.00 and includes an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet, soft drinks, eight game tokens and one amusement ride. John's Incredible Pizza is located at 3709 Rosedale Highway.
· Wednesday, April 2nd - Condors winger Paul Rosebush and Condors staff will be attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bakersfield Ice Center today at 11:00 am. The Condors will join City of Bakersfield officials and members of the local ice skating community the Condors as they kick off construction of the Ice Center. The event will be held at the corner of 13th and P Street.
· Wednesday, April 2nd - The Condors will hold a media roundtable at John's Incredible Pizza from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly, as well as Condors players Wes Swinson and Quinn Fair will be in attendance. John's Incredible Pizza is located at 3709 Rosedale Highway. · Thursday, April 3rd - Condors players Jonas Lennartsson and Jason Ralph will be visiting Norris Elementary for their Community Reader Day. Lennartsson and Ralph will be reading to third graders from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm. Norris Elementary is located at 6940 Calloway Drive.
· Thursday, April 3rd - Condors players Nate Anderson and Jason Jackman will be at Myrtle Avenue School from 1:45 pm - 2:30 pm for a Condors Classroom Champions program appearance. The Condors Classroom Champions program is sponsored by CBS-29, Big Valley Construction, and McDonald's and is designed to award students on outstanding attendance. Myrtle Avenue School is located at10421 Myrtle Avenue in Lamont.
· Thursday, April 3rd - Join the "Voice of the Condors", Kevin Bartl as he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO AM 1230 live from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly and select Condors players will be the guests on the show. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun, on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.
· Friday, April 4th - Join the Condors when they host the Idaho Steelheads as Time Warner Cable and KBID 1350 present the Rug Rats. Don't miss your chance to meet Tommy and Angelica as they entertain fans. The evening is also Time Warner Cable Family Night. Subscribers can receive $5.00 terrace admission per person by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill. Sierra Mist will be hosting Discount Night as fans can receive $2.00 off any ticket by presenting the neckringer coupon on Sierra Mist and Mountain Dew 2-liter bottles found only at Rite Aid stores. The night is also Big Buddies Night. Underprivileged children will be given the opportunity to attend the game for free thanks to local organizations and the Active 20/30 Club. Tonight's game can be seen live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21 (Digital 21) and will be replayed Saturday at 10:00am. Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, open 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Group outings may be purchased by calling, or visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
· Saturday, April 5th - Join the Condors as they close out the regular season against the Idaho Steelheads for Real Rock 104.3 and R. A. Kleiner Insurance Cap Giveaway. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Condors cap. Also, 101.5 KGFM and Holiday Inn Select will host DARE Night. Students graduating from the DARE program will receive complimentary terrace admission to tonight's game.
Week in Review:
· Monday, March 24th - The fourth annual Tip-A-Condor dinner was held at the Crystal Palace. Sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, this year's event benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation and raised a Tip-A-Condor record of $6,976. The charity dinner featured Condors players and coaches posing as waiters for an evening, serving food and drinks to patrons. There was a live auction as well after the dinner. The stick used by Captain Paul Willett to record his 1,000th career point highlighted the auction. Plus, this year, Condors players showed off their singing talents as Karaoke singers.
Condors Droppings:
The Condors will host Games 1 and 2 of the 2003 Taylor Cup Playoffs against the rival San Diego Gulls on April 11th and 12th. Individual tickets will go on sale for these games on Friday, April 4th at 10:00 am at the Garden box office. Until that time, tickets may only be purchased through mini-plans or by reserving a group of 20 or more people.
