March 31, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

The Trenton Titans (38-24-10) qualified for the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in as many seasons thanks to a 7-2 win last Saturday night against Atlantic City. Eric Betournay notched his second career two-goal game, and second with the Titans this season, when he netted the first two Titans scores. Scott Bertoli (three-points), Tyler Beechey and Adam Edinger each had multiple point efforts with at least a goal and an assist in the contest. Goaltender Cody Rudkowsky bounced back from Friday night's loss stopping 33 shots for his 17th win of the season. The win, coupled with Richmond's 6-3 victory over Charlotte, helped the Titans clinch the third and final playoff spot in the Northeast Division. The Titans will get another crack at the Bullies in the Northeast Division Semi-finals, which begin on Wednesday night at 7 pm at Boardwalk Hall. The Titans finished the regular season "Garden State Cup" series 4-5-1, while the Bullies were 6-2-2. The Titans are 10-10 all-time during the regular season against the Bullies.

Titans Look For Revenge For Bullies 2002 Playoff Series Win:

The Titans will look for a measure of revenge when they open the 2003 Kelly Cup Playoffs against the Northeast Division regular season champion Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. Last season the Titans were the number one seed, but fell to Atlantic City in the Northeast Division Finals three-games-to-none. The Bullies have nearly their entire regular season squad, but are without defenseman Kirk Furey (Philadelphia-AHL) and All-Star net minder Scott Stirling (Bridgeport-AHL). The Titans will be without defenseman Paul Traynor (Syracuse-AHL). Bertoli's "'A' Game" Helps Titans Head Back To Post-season:

Left wing Scott Bertoli closed out the 2002-03 regular season with a three-point effort in the 7-2 over the Bullies on Saturday night. Despite playing only 47 games, he led team with 39 assists, and second overall with 60 points.
