Grizzlies Beat Fresno 5-1

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Fresno Falcons 5-1 Friday night at the E-Center. Luciano Aquino had three goals and one assist in the game. Rob McVicar stopped 39 of 40 for the win.

The Grizzlies scored two first period goals off of Fresno turnovers to take a 2-0 lead. Luciano Aquino (3) and Bill Kinkel scored for Utah.

In the second, the Grizzlies built a 3-1 lead with Luciano Aquino (4) hacking in a rebound with two seconds left in the period to put Utah up 3-1 at the second intermission.

In the third, the Grizzlies got goals from Danny Stewart and Aquino (5) to finish the hat trick and give Utah a 5-1 lead.

Utah killed all eight shorthanded situations and was outshot 40-30 in the game.

Brad Herauf and Eric Nelson chipped in two assists in the game. Joel Irving also had two assists; extending his scoring streak to five games. Danny Stewart had one goal and one assist.

The Grizzlies host Fresno again tomorrow at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
