Cyclones edge Chiefs 5-4 in overtime

Cincinnati, Ohio (February 16, 2007) - The Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Johnstown Chiefs by a score of 5-4 in overtime at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati on Friday evening.

Cincinnati got on the board at 7:47 of the first when Jason Deitsch banged the rebound of shot from Jean-Michel Daoust past Chiefs goaltender Morgan Cey. Dmitri Tarabrin would get the Chiefs ont eh board at 12:51 of the first, breaking in with Jean Desrochers on a two-on-one and firing a shot past Cincinnati goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris for his tenth of the season. Adam Henrich would give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal at 15:58, and increased the Chiefs lead to 3-1 when his through-the-legs centering pass went off Grumet-Morris and into the net at 2:48 of the second.

The Cyclones climbed back into the game with another goal from Jason Deitsch, who scored on a one-timer as he broke in two-on-one with Mathieu Aubin at 4:42 of the second. Nick Martens would score for Cincinnati with a shot from the right wing to tie the game at three and chase Cey from the Johnstown net at 7:34 of the second.

Johnstown would regain the lead when Stanislav Lascek would score on a blast from the point with the Chiefs on the power play at 8:51 of the second period, but Cincinnati would tie the game at four when Jean-Michel Daoust scored just 28 seconds into the third period.

The game remained tied through the remainder of the third period, until Jean-Michel Daoust tipped a shot from Jason Deitsch past Ryan Munce at 4:51 of the overtime period to win the game for Cincinnati.
