
Barracuda Forward Thomas Bordeleau Named to 2023 AHL All-Star Classic

San Jose, CA - The American Hockey League (@TheAHL) announced today that San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) rookie Forward Thomas Bordeleau (@Thomasbord71) has been named to the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Bell in collaboration with Manulife Bank, which will take place at Laval's Place Bell from Feb. 5-6, 2023.
Among AHL rookies, Bordeleau, 21, ranks first in goals (17), power-play goals (8), and power-play points (14), and third in shots (89) and T-third in total points (25). Among Barracuda skaters, he is first in goals, power-play goals and second in points and third in shots.
Last year, following his two-year collegiate career at the University of Michigan, Bordeleau skated in eight games with the Sharks, recording five assists, and the game-winning shootout goal on April 24, 2022, at Vegas, eliminating the Golden Knights from playoff contention. In addition, he appeared in two games with the Barracuda, notching three assists in his pro debut on April 13, 2022, vs. Bakersfield. As a sophomore with the Wolverines, he, registered 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists) in 36 games played along with a plus-17 rating and three game-winning goals. He set career highs in nearly all offensive categories including goals, assists, points, and plus/minus. He finished ninth among NCAA sophomore skaters in points. He also helped Michigan to the Frozen Four in 2022, recording three points in a 7-4 win over Quinnipiac.
As a freshman in 2020-21, Bordeleau recorded 30 points (eight goals, 22 assists) in 24 games with Michigan and led all NCAA freshmen in assists, points, assists-per-game (.92), points-per-game (1.25), ranked tied for second in game-winning goals (3) and fifth in power-play points (10). Among NCAA D-1 skaters, Bordeleau ranked tied for seventh in assists and fifth in assists-per-game. Bordeleau was the recipient of the Tim Taylor Award in the given to the NCAA D-I player judged to be the most outstanding Freshman, named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Second Team All Big Ten, Big Ten All-Freshman Team, a was named to the Sharks Prospect of the Week, presented by Kaiser Permanente, twice and the first recipient of the Sharks Prospect of the Year award.
Over his collegiate career, all with Michigan, he scored 66 points (19 goals, 47 assists) across 60 games.
The five-foot-nine, 179-pound native of Houston, Texas was selected by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft (second round, 38th overall).
Bordeleau, who spends his offseasons in Montreal, joins Joachim Blichfeld, Jake Middleton, Francis Perron, Josef Korenar, Barclay Goodrow, Ryan Carpenter, Troy Grosenick, Danny O'Regan, Antoine Bibeau and Rudolfs Balcers as players to represent the Barracuda at the AHL All-Star Classic, which has not been conducted since 2020 (Ontario, CA) do to COVID-19.
The Barracuda are set to host the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic and AHL All-Star Skills Competition at Tech CU Arena on Sunday, February 4, 2024, followed by the AHL Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony on Monday, February 5, 2024 and the 2024 AHL All-Star Challenge that evening.
