July 13, 2026 - BASEBALL Women's Pro Baseball League: The new WPBL announced the four teams that will participate in the league's inaugural 2026 season will be called the Boston Hunters, Los Angeles Queens, New York Heights and San Francisco Firebells. July 13, 2026 - In its sixth season in the MLB Draft League, the West Virginia Black Bears had 15 players taken in the 2026 MLB Draft. With eight players selected from the 2026 first-half team and seven alumni drafted, the Black Bears set a new league record for number of players (15) and most pitchers (10) taken in a single year. July 13, 2026 - Major League Baseball held its annual First-Year Player draft over the weekend, with the Colorado Rockies selected 21 total players including three within the draft's first 38 selections. July 13, 2026 - MADISON, AL - Rocket City Trash Pandas infielder Nick Rodriguez has been named the Southern League Player of the Week for July 7-12, Minor League Baseball announced Monday. Rodriguez is the first Trash Pandas player to earn Southern League Player of the Week honors this season and joins right-handed pitcher Nate Snead, who was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week on June 29, as the club's only weekly award winners in 2026.
