Checkers And The Attic Bar Help Pat's Place

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers have partnered with the Attic Bar located at 200 N. Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte to help raise funds and awareness for Pat's Place.

On March 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Checkers players and CheckMates will be on hand to serve as guest bartenders at the Attic Bar. During the event, $1 from each drink purchased will go to benefit Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center Inc. which is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that was incorporated in December 2004 to fulfill the unmet need for specialized coordinated services for children affected by sexual abuse.

Pat's Place:

To provide a physical environment where a child's well-being is our first priority while reducing trauma and promoting healing from sexual abuse. We work collaboratively with community partners to create improved processes and increase community awareness.

The Checkers are in their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on March 6 against the Dayton Bombers. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are in their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $175.
