Timbers Acquire Goalkeeper Steve Clark

August 17, 2018 - PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that the club has acquired goalkeeper Steve Clark off waivers from D.C. United. Clark, 32, joins Portland after spending the previous two seasons with D.C. United (2017-18), making eight starts and logging two shutouts. Prior to his time with D.C. United, Clark played three seasons for Columbus Crew SC (2014-16), where he made 100 regular-season starts and recorded 22 shutouts. August 17, 2018 - PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that goalkeeper Jake Gleeson has undergone successful surgery to repair bilateral tibial stress fractures. The procedure was performed by Timbers chief medical officer Dr. Richard H. Edelson at Sports Medicine Oregon. Gleeson, who is expected to be out approximately two months, will conduct his rehabilitation with the Timbers sports medicine staff at Providence Park and at the Providence Sports Care Center.... August 15, 2018 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - Playing their first of two matches in a four-day span this week, the Portland Timbers fell 4-1 to D.C. United before 18,219 fans at Audi Field on Wednesday night, snapping the team's five-game unbeaten run away from home in league play, dating back to May 5. Forward Samuel Armenteros scored the team's lone goal in the match, tallying his eighth goal of the season, while midfielders Sebastián Blanco and Andy Polo each contributed an assist.
