The Week Ahead:
Tuesday, October 28 Vs Florence â 7:05 PM @ North Charleston Coliseum

Tuesday's game is the first of the season between these two rivals that will meet six times this season. The Rays have a record of 44-21-8 against the Florence franchise. South Carolina has a record of 2-1 with a 1-0 record at home. The Pride is 1-2-1 this season with a road mark of 1-1.
At the Coliseum: Hooters Two for Tuesday. Two for one upper level one tickets, two for one hot dogs and two dollar beers.
Friday, October 31 Vs Columbiaâ 7:30 PM @ North Charleston Coliseum

This is the first meeting of the season for these two teams. The Stingrays finished in second place a year ago behind the Inferno. Columbia is off to a 3-1-1 start this year. The Inferno has an all-time record of 10-5-1 against the Rays.
At the Coliseum: Family Friday. Fans can get four tickets, four Cokes, four hot dogs and popcorn for $40.00. Don't miss the Boorade; a Halloween parade for all kids in costume, in the first intermission.

This is the first ever meeting between these two teams. The Boardwalk Bullies won the Kelly Cup last season under Head Coach Mike Haviland. This is the second non division game of the season for the Rays.

The Week That Was:
Thursday, October 23 South Carolina 3 @ Augusta 4
This was the first loss of the season for the Stingrays, despite two late third period goals. Curtis Huppe, Marty Clapton and Jeff Boulanger all scored for the Stingrays in the loss. Goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck suffered his first loss of the season.
The Team:
The Stingrays won their first two games of the season before losing 4-3 on Thursday night in Augusta. The Rays beat Greenville 3-2 in their only home contest of the year. Last season the Stingrays enjoyed a power play and a penalty kill that were ranked in the top ten in the ECHL. This season, the power play is ranked 13th at 16.7% while the penalty kill is ranked eighth with a mark of 88.9%. The Rays average 31.3 penalty minutes a game which is the sixth most in the ECHL. The team is averaging six penalty kill chances per game and eight power play opportunities per game to this point. South Carolina's defense has been stingy, allowing just 2.67 goals per game

Kirk Daubenspeck has started all three games for the Rays this season and has a save percentage of .906%. Four Stingrays are tied for the team lead in points with three. Ed Courtenay and Curtis Huppe are the only Stingrays with two goals this season.
