Reading Royals News Release

Toledo, OH -- The Reading Royals finished their two game set with Northern Division foe Toledo Saturday night. The Royals outshot the Storm 39-17 en route to a 5-2 victory. With the win, the Royals avenged Friday night's 5-4 shootout loss and remained unbeaten in regulation in 2003-04.

Reading jumped up 1-0 on rookie sensation David Masse's first goal of the season. Fifty seconds later, fellow rookie Peter Hay got his first goal as a professional to give the Royals a 2-0 lead. The Royals would add three goals in the second period, one by Hay and two by Kent Davyduke to jump on top 5-0. Toledo managed just one shot in the second period but scored on that shot to cut into Reading's lead. The Storm added a goal in the third to finish the scoring.

Reading's power play was awesome going 3 of 7 while the penalty kill stopped seven consecutive Storm opportunities. Reading has killed off 23 straight opponent power plays to start the season.

The Royals battle Wheeling at home on Friday October 31.
