Ice Pilots Off To Best Start Ever After Four Games 3-1 Record

The Pensacola Ice Pilots go into the week in first place in the Central Division of the Western Conference with a record of 3-1 for 6 points. The Ice Pilots defeated Columbus on Friday night at home 5-4 and defeated Texas at home on Saturday night 7-2. The Ice Pilots trailed Columbus on Friday night 2-0 but scored three goals in the second period from Ryan Craig, Kent Sauer and Dwayne Hay. The Ice Pilots would get another two goals in the third period from Aaron Phillips and Jim Abbott to win 5-4. Brian Eklund was the winning goalie stopping 32 out of 36 shots.

The Ice Pilots won their third game in a row defeating Texas on Saturday night 7-2. Ryan Craig scored 2 goals and picked up 2 assists in the game. Peter Bournazakis scored a goal and picked up three assists. Dwayne Hay, Jim Abbott, Brian Collins and Corey Neilson also scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Brain Eklund was the winning goalie stopping 23 out of 25 shots. The Ice Pilots went 3-6 on the power play.

The Ice Pilots are home this Thursday and Saturday night vs. Columbus and Mississippi at 7:05 p.m.
The Ice Pilots are home this Thursday night vs. the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots defeated Columbus 5-4 on Friday night and lost to Columbus 3-1 in the season opener on October 18. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 5-2-1 vs. Columbus including 3-1-1 at home and 2-1 on the road. The Ice Pilots posted a record of 2-1-1 vs. Columbus last year including a record of 0-0-1 at home and 2-1 on the road.

The Ice Pilots will play the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots defeated Mississippi! in Biloxi on October 19th 4-3 in overtime. The Ice Pilots trailed 2-0 only to win 4-3 in overtime on two goals by Greg Chambers including the game winner. The Ice Pilots have an all-time record of 19-32-6 vs. Mississippi including 10-14-3 at home and 9-18-3 on the road. The Ice Pilots had a record of 4-5-3 vs. Mississippi last year including a record of 2-2-2 at home and 2-3-1 on the road.

Halloween Costume Contest on Thursday Night
The Ice Pilots will host a Halloween Costume Contest during Thursday nights game vs. Columbus. Fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween Costume to the game with prizes to be given out to the best costumes.

Ice Pilots leaders
Forward Ryan Craig is tied for the league lead among all rookies in scoring with 7 points and is second among all rookies with 3 goals. Greg Chambers is tied for first among all rookies with 2 power play goals. Goalie Brian Eklund is second in the league among all goalies with 138 saves and is fifth in the league with 242 saves.

Ryan Craig leads the Ice Pilots in scoring with 7 points and is tied with Dwayne Hay on the team with 3 goals each. Brian Eklund is 3-1 with a 2.97 goals against average and .920 save percentage.

Practice Schedule for the week
The Ice Pilots will practice at the Civic Center Monday through Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. The Ice Pilots will have a pre-skate on Thursday at 10 a.m. and will play home to Columbus on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will have a practice on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will have a pre-skate on Saturday at 10 a.m. and play home on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. vs. Mississippi.

Nominated Player of the WeekIce Pilots forward Ryan Craig has been nominated by the Ice Pilots for the ECHL Player of the week. Craig scored three goals and picked up four assists over the weekend. Brian Eklund has been nominated for Goalie of the Week. Eklund went 2-0 over the weekend with a 3.00 goals against average.

Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments
Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.

Group Tickets
Group tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out and MVP card, (Cards are mailed with the group tickets), and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game, and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).

Birthday Parties
Celebrate your birthday with the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots birthday party package includes hot dogs, cokes, cake and 10 $13 lower goal game tickets, a special gift pack for the birthday person delivered by Iceman, a birthday card signed by the Ice Pilots and scoreboard recognition. Assigned Players from Tampa Bay
The Ice Pilots currently have five players on the roster assigned from Tampa Bay. They are goalie Brian Eklund and forward Dwayne Hay. Forward Jean Francois Soucy, forward Ryan Craig and defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof are also assigned from Tampa. Van Hoof was called up to Hershey of the AHL on Sunday.

Kerrs Kids
This season the Ice Pilots are introducing Kerrs Kids. Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite six children and their escorts to a game. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission, a goodie bag for each child and SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. Accessible seating will be arranged for Kerrs Kids in section 105. The Ice Pilots Coachs Radio show is broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on WCOA AM 1370 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Todd Gordon and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. Forward Dwayne Hay and defenseman Corey Neilson will be the player guests tonight.
