WEEKLY SUMMARY: The Johnstown Chiefs (4-1-0; 8 PTS; T-1st Northern div.) continued their great start to the season as they went 2-0-0 last week with a home win over the Texas Wildcatters on Wednesday and a road win last Friday night at Dayton. The Chiefs remain in a tie with Atlantic City for 1st place in the Northern division (8 PTS). The Chiefs will play two home games this week against Dayton and Reading on Friday and Saturday respectively.

GAME #4 (10/22/03) JOHNSTOWN 5 â Texas 2 Hildenbrand Two Goals
The Johnstown Chiefs closed out their three game home stand in style, as they picked up their third straight win, a 5-2 victory over the visiting Texas Wildcatters. The Chiefs opened up the scoring in the first period as Johnstown native Josh Piro scored his first professional goal just 0:23 into the game. Steve Hildenbrand scored two 2nd period goals for the Chiefs while Dmitri Tarabrin and Jason Notermann also tallied. Justin Cardwell and Bobby Cunningham scored the Wildcatters goals. Chiefs goaltender Arturs Irbe made 27 saves including 15 in the third period. Texas goaltender Jason Cugnet (23 saves) allowed all five goals in just over one and a half periods of play. Davis Parley came in relief of Cugnet stopping all 7 shots he faced.
GAME #5 (10/24/03) Johnstown 6 â Dayton 1 Notermann Two Goals
The Johnstown Chiefs extended their winning streak to four games as they picked up a 6-1 road win Friday night over the Dayton Bombers. Jason Notermann had two goals for the Chiefs while Dmitri Tarabrin, Jay Langager, Dominic Forget and Brent Kelly also scored. Jason Deskins scored the lone Dayton goal. Chiefs goaltender Arturs Irbe played strong again in net stopping 28 of 29 Bombers shots. Dayton goaltender Bujar Amidovski suffered the loss making 25 saves.

Friday night, the Chiefs and the Dayton Bombers (0-3-0; 0 PTS; 9th Northern div.) face-off for the second of nine games this season. The Chiefs won the first game of the season series last Friday by a score of 6-1. The Chiefs are 40-42-8 all-time against the Bombers. Dayton is currently in last place in the Northern division and is one of two teams (Greenville) in the ECHL without a win. Sat. Saturday night, the Chiefs will face their in state rival, Reading Royals (3-0-1; 7 PTS; T-2nd Northern Division) for the first of ten games this season. The Chiefs were 2-3-0 against the Royals last season. Reading is currently in third place in the Northern division trailing the Chiefs and Atlantic City by one point.

In their last four games the Chiefs have outscored their opponents 21-5.
The Chiefs are 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 152 PIM.
