South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC South Carolina Stingrays Head Coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that Aaron Power has been assigned to the team from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. Power will be in the lineup for the Rays when they host the Florence Pride tomorrow night.

Power is a rookie defenseman that has spent the last four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Barrie Colts and the Sarnia Sting. Last year with the Sting he netted 19 goals and added 38 assists from the blue line.

"Aaron is a good two way defenseman," noted Fitzsimmons. "We think he is going to be one of the quality rookie defenseman in this league.

Power stands 6'-0" and weighs 205lbs.

In other roster moves, Fitzsimmons added Shawn Skiehar to the roster and placed Andy Powers on the injured list with a back injury. Skiehar has not played this season for the Stingrays after suffering a back injury in the preseason.

The Rays host the Florence Pride tomorrow evening at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The team will play its next three games at home. The Stingrays host the Columbia Inferno on Friday and Atlantic City on Saturday.
