Bombers Acquire 2003 Kelly Cup Winner Galbraith in Trade
October 27, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers have announced that they have acquired right winger Jade Galbraith (GAL-brayth) from the Florence Pride (ECHL) in exchange for forward Jeff Szwez and future considerations.
Galbraith, who is of no relation to current Bombers' forward Lance Galbraith, was acquired by the Florence Pride (formerly the Pee Dee Pride) over the summer in a trade with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies.
Last season as a rookie with Atlantic City, Galbraith, a native of Calgary, Alberta, amassed 27 goals, 47 assists, a +20 plus/minus rating and 70 penalty minutes in 69 regular season games. His 74 points ranked second on the team and was also second among all ECHL rookies. During the post-season, Galbraith chipped in two goals and five assists as the Boardwalk Bullies captured the Kelly Cup ECHL Playoff Championship with a four games-to-one series win over the Columbia Inferno.
Dayton Bombers' Head Coach Jamie Ling remarked, "We feel that Jade is only going to get better as a professional hockey player and will provide a spark to our offense. We are fortunate to be adding a player who has tasted championship success in this league."
The Bombers' next game will be on Friday, October 31 at Johnstown (7:00 p.m.). The game can be heard on www.daytonbombers.com (Media Center/Listen Live section) via www.broadcastmonsters.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pre-game show.
The Bombers will then return home on Saturday, November 1 to host Cincinnati (7:00 p.m.) for College/Bud Light Dollar Beer Night at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. After the Saturday game, the Bombers will wrap up a three games-in-three days weekend when they launch the all new "Bucky's Flight Crew," sponsored by the Office Depot, with a kick-off at the Sunday, November 2 game vs. Toledo (4:00 p.m.). Also during the contest, the Bombers will be having a United Way Celebration, marking the end of United Way's campaign. Tickets are just $11 with some proceeds given to the United Way. Area businesses will be challenging United Way President Marc Levy to a contest on the ice as part of the event's festivities.
Single game tickets for all Dayton Bombers' 2003-2004 home regular season games are on sale now. Tickets are available for purchase at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Box Office, at www.daytonbombers.com, by calling (937) 775-4747, or at any Ticketmaster location.
Pro-rated season tickets for the 2003-2004 campaign (with some under $180) in addition to Flex Ticket and Corporate Marketing Programs are also available through the Dayton Bombers' office by calling (937) 775-4747.
