BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads finished this past week at .500, having played two road games against Las Vegas and Bakersfield. Idaho lost to Las Vegas on the 24th 4-1, allowing the Wranglers to convert 4 of 5 power plays. Next, Idaho beat the Condors 2-1 to mark the first road win of the season. Two rookies scored their first professional goals this weekend with forward Warren Peters notching one on the 24th and forward Wade Davis getting his on the 25th.

This week, Idaho will welcome Bakersfield to the Bank of America Centre for a two-game mid-week stint on Tuesday, October 28th and Wednesday, October 29th . Tuesday is the Million-Dollar Challenge where fans from the audience will have a chance to win Cash, and Wednesday is the Halloween Mask Giveaway.

10/24/03: Las Vegas Wranglers 4 / Idaho Steelheads 1

In the first road game of the new ECHL season, the Idaho Steelheads lost 4-1 to the expansion Las Vegas Wranglers at the Orleans Arena. Idaho is now 2-2 against Las Vegas this season. Warren Peters scored Idaho's first road goal this season at 5:36 of the first period. The goal marked Peters' first professional goal. Dan Ellis (4 GA, 19 SV); Marc Magliarditi (1 GA, 25 SV).

10/25/03: Idaho Steelheads 2/ Bakersfield Condors 1

In the first meeting of the season, the Idaho Steelheads beat the Bakersfield Condors 2-1. Idaho's netminder Blair Allison improved his record to 2-0 stopping 13 shots, and rookie Wade Davis scored his first professional goal. Chris Marinucci came away with his second game-winning goal of the season. Blair Allison (1 GA, 13 SV); Joe Watkins (2 GA, 23 SV)

STEELHEADS TOP THREE POINTS LEADERS:

Chris Marinucci leads Idaho in scoring with 7 points in 5 games played (4G, 3A). He is tied for seventh in the league in points. Jan Kopecky is second on the team having tallied 5 points in 5 games (2G, 3A). The Czech native is playing his first professional season in North America this year. Derek Paget and rookie Warren Peters are tied for third in scoring with 3 points apiece. Paget is entering into his third season with the Steelheads this year, having accumulated 29 goals and 39 assists (68 pts) in 68 games played from 2001-03.

PRACTICES:

Steelheads will skate at the Bank of America Centre on Tuesday (Oct. 28) and Wednesday (Oct. 29) this week from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. All sessions are free and open to the public.

The Idaho Steelheads mascot, Bonk was out in the community this past weekend and visited the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County on Saturday, October 25th.
