Pride Deal Galbraith to Dayton
October 27, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The Florence Pride, proud members of the ECHL, announced today that they have traded right wing Jade Galbraith to the Dayton Bombers in exchange for right wing Jeff Szwez (Swez) and a player to be named later.
Szwez is in his second professional season. Last season, he appeared in nine games with the AHL's Binghamton Senators, posting one goal and five penalty minutes. He spent the majority of the season with the Augusta Lynx, playing in 48 games, while notching 10 goals and 15 assists to go along with 30 penalty minutes. In three games this season with the Bombers, Szwez was scoreless with two penalty minutes. Szwez will add some size to the Pride's front line, standing at 6-feet-3, 210 pounds.
"After assessing the first few games we felt we needed to increase our team speed," Pride Head Coach Perry Florio said. "Jeff skates very well, and at 6'3", should add more strength up front than what we had."
Galbraith was in his first season with the Pride after being acquired over the summer in a trade with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. In four games this season he had one goal and two assists.
Florence is back in action tomorrow night, traveling to the North Charleston Coliseum for a 7:00 faceoff with the South Carolina Stingrays. Catch all of the action on WDAR Sunny 105.5 FM starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 6:40.
The Pride return home for a pair of games this weekend. Friday, they host the Augusta Lynx at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday the Trenton Titans come to town, also at 7:30. Tickets for all Pride home games are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets, by phone at (843) 679-9333 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
