This is the third meeting of the season between these two teams. The Stingrays topped the Lynx 5-1 at the Coliseum on October 25 and won 3-2 at Augusta on November 26. South Carolina has a home record of 8-4-0, while the Lynx are 2-9-1 on the road. Augusta is 3-6-1 in its last ten games, the Stingrays have a record of 4-5-1 in their last ten.

@ Columbus Saturday, December 14 7:30 Columbus Civic Center

This is the fourth meeting of the season between these two teams. South Carolina has a record of 3-0 against the Cottonmouths this season. The Stingrays beat Columbus 3-2 on October 19th at home, 2-1 in overtime, on November 10th in Columbus and 5-4 on November 12th at the Coliseum. Columbus is tied for fourth place in the Southeast with a home record of 7-4-1.

Last Week in Review:

South Carolina split a weekend set in Florida to hold onto first place in its division. The Stingrays came from behind with three third period goals on Friday to knock off the Everblades 5-4 on Friday night. Marty Clapton returned to the lineup in the win and had two goals and two assists. On Saturday, the Rays watched the Everblades knock in four third period goals to win 7-5. Mike Jickling had two goals and two assists in the loss for South Carolina.

Team Notes:

The Stingrays lead in the Southeast Division slipped to just two points this week. The Rays now have 31 points while Columbia has 29 in second position. The Rays have been consistent both at home and on the road this season. At home the team has a record of 8-4-0, while on the road the Stingrays are 7-4-1. Overall South Carolina has a record of 13-5-0 this season against division opponents. The team has won its last two games at home. The Rays are the ranked fourth in the ECHL in goals for per game, averaging 3.71. The team is 16th in goals against, averaging 3.25 per game.

Players:

All eyes will be on Dave Seitz this weekend at the Coliseum as the veteran center will try to become the first Stingray to hit 200 goals and 500 points. The Grand Island, New York native currently has 198 goals and 498 points. Rod Taylor is sneaking up on Darryl Noren's 685 career points which is tops all time in the ECHL. Taylor has five points in six games this season with the Stingrays, giving him 675 career points. Mike Jickling's four-point night on Saturday has him tied with Dave Seitz for third on the Rays in scoring with nine goals and 14 assists. Curtis Huppe leads the team in points with 27. Kirk Daubenspeck still leads the ECHL in wins with 14.

Stingrays in the Community

The Rays will volunteer their time to Habitat for Humanity this week. They will work at a Charleston location on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm. Half the team will work on Tuesday and the other half of the team will work on Wednesday. The team will be wrapping gifts at Citadel Mall from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12th.
