December 9, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release
AUGUSTA, GAâ The Augusta Lynx announced today that Vice President of Corporate Sales and Marketing, Sue Russell, will be representing the organization at Fort Gordon's "Augusta in Army Boots" Wednesday, December 11 through Thursday, December 12. The experience is designed to allow community leaders the chance to spend the day as a soldier would. The 93rd Signal Brigade at Fort Gordon is hosting the event, allowing those involved to learn more about their primary mission of electronic communications. Ms. Russell will be participating in activities to include establishing communication links, night operations, eating MREs, and sleeping in a tent. Each participant will have a "Battle Buddy" to guide them through the day. Following the experience, each participant will be made an honorary Second Lieutenant at a special promotion ceremony on Thursday morning.
Ms. Russell said of the upcoming experience that she "is looking forward to learning how it is to be a soldier for a day. The Lynx and Fort Gordon have a great partnership and this is a way for the Lynx to give something back to the Fort for all they do for us."
