LAST WEEK: The Pride went 1-1-1 last week, falling to 12-7-4 on the season. Since opening the season with an 8-2-1 record, Pee Dee is 4-5-3 in their last 12 games. Entering this week, the Pride are in third place in the Southeast Division, one point behind second-place Columbia and three in back of first-place South Carolina.

Friday, December 6 v. Columbia PRIDE 4 Inferno 3 (SO)

The Pride raced out to a quick 2-0 lead just 7:56 into the game on a pair of Matt Reid goals. Mike Glumac extended the lead to 3-0 early in the second period. Columbia would rally, scoring once in the second and twice in the third, including the tying goal with just 1:13 left. In the fifth round of the shootout, Reid continued his outstanding game scoring the clinching goal.

Saturday, December 7 @ Augusta Lynx 3 PRIDE 1

A Mike Torney power-play goal midway through the first period gave the Pride an early lead, and also ended an 0-for-29 drought on the power play. After that though it would be all Augusta. The Lynx scored a pair of goals in the second period, and added an empty netter with 18 seconds left. The win ended a six-game winless streak for Augusta.

Sunday, December 8 v. Charlotte Checkers 4 PRIDE 3 (OT)

Trailing 1-0 entering the second period, the Pride scored two goals 49 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead. Charlotte would tie it with just 50 seconds left in the second period. A power play goal by Takahito Suzuki at the 12:30 mark of the third period gave the Checkers the lead, but Matt Reid tied it with a shorthanded tally just 1:15 later. In overtime, Dusty Jamieson converted a 2-on-1 break for his second goal of the game to give Charlotte their first victory in the last seven games.

Thursday, December 12 @ Columbia 7:05 p.m. Coverage on Sunny 105.5 at 6:45

The Pride and Inferno meet for the fifth time this season, and for the fourth time in 21 days. Pee Dee holds a 3-1-0 mark against Columbia this season, including a win in the only meeting so far at the Carolina Coliseum. The Inferno are in second place in the division, one point ahead of the Pride.

Friday, December 13 v. Columbus 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

Columbus makes its first of three visits to the Lion's Den this season. It is the second of seven meetings on the year, with the Cottonmouths winning the first game, 5-4 at Columbus on October 22. The Cottonmouths are 3-7-0 in their last 10 games and enter the week 12-11-2 on the season for 26 points. They are part of a three-way tie for fourth place in the division.

PROMOTIONS: The Pride will hold their third annual Teddy Bear Toss during the game. Fans are asked to bring a new, plush toy to the game, and after the Pride score their first goal, throw them on the ice. The toys will be donated to WBTW News 13's Toys for the Territory Campaign for underprivileged children.

Saturday, December 14 v. Roanoke 7:30 p.m. at the Lion's Den

This is the second of four meetings this year between the Pride and Express. Pee Dee won the first game, 5-1 at home on November 16. Roanoke enters the week with a 12-10-2 record for 26 points and sits in fifth place in the Northeast Division.

PROMOTIONS: Prior to the game, Pride Senior Vice President Jack Capuano will hold his second fan forum of the season. Pride fans will have the opportunity to ask questions to Cappy about any aspect of the organization or the league. It also is Saturday Night Fever Night, with fans encouraged to come dressed in their favorite ‘70s outfit.

OTHER NOTES

SIROIS REACHES MILESTONE

With his goal on Sunday afternoon against Charlotte, Pride captain Allan Sirois reached the 400-point plateau in his ECHL career. Sirois is the 31st player in league history to reach the 400-point milestone.

DROUGHT ENDS, BUT STRUGGLES CONTINUE

The Pride's power play drought finally came to end on Saturday when Mike Torney scored, ending an 0-for-29 drought on the man advantage. In the last 11 games, Pee Dee is 4-for-63 (6.3%) on the power play. For the season, the Pride have dropped to 19th in the league, converting on 16.1% of their man-advantage opportunities. They had reached as high as fourth overall in the league right before the struggles started.
