Cardarelli Named Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Cincinnati left wing Joe Cardarelli is the InGlasCo East Coast Hockey League Player of the Week for December 2-8.

Cardarelli scored seven goals as the Cyclones went 3-0 to wrap up a 5-0 home stand. The Cyclones have won five in a row and seven consecutive home games.

The 25-year-old Cardarelli scored three goals in an 8-2 win over Johnstown on Wednesday, the first hat trick scored by the Cyclones since returning to Cincinnati in 2001-02. He had two goals in the Cyclones 6-1 win over Trenton on Friday, and closed out the week with two power-play goals in an 8-0 win over Wheeling.

The 6-0 and 205-pound Cardarelli opened the 2002-03 season with Manchester in the British Ice Hockey Super League before joining the Cyclones on November 17. In 10 games with Cincinnati, Cardarelli has 15 points and ranks second on the team with 10 goals, including three power-play goals. Selected in the eighth round (186th overall) by Tampa Bay in the 1995 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Cardarelli scored 70 points (30g-40a) in 69 regular season games with Florida in the ECHL in 1999-2000 and played parts of the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons with Chesapeake in the ECHL.

On behalf of Joe Cardarelli, a case of pucks will be donated to a Cincinnati area youth hockey organization by InGlasCo.
