The Greenville Grrrowl started the week with a 5-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers on Friday at the BI-LO Center. Saturday, the Columbia Inferno posted a 6-3 win in Greenville. And on Sunday afternoon, the Grrrowl recorded a season-high 47 shots on goal in a 6-2 win over the Lynx in Augusta.

FRIDAY: The Grrrowl broke a 2-2 tie with three straight third period goals in a 5-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers. Greenville is now 3-0-0 against Charlotte this season... TYLER DEIS and JONATHAN ROY recorded two goals apiece, while JAYME PLATT stopped 41 of 43 shots in the winning effort... NEXT MEETING: 12/31 @ Cricket Arena.

SATURDAY: Greenville surrendered a season-high 46 shots on goal, and the Columbia Inferno posted a 6-3 victory at the BI-LO Center...it was Columbia's 3rd win in 4 games against the Grrrowl this season. NEXT MEETING: 1/18 @ grv

SUNDAY: The Grrrowl recorded a season-high 47 shots on goal in a 6-2 win over the Augusta Lynx... KRZYSZTOF WIECKOWSKI recorded 2 goals and 2 assists in the winning effort... NEXT MEETING: 12/17 @ grv.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JUDD MEDAK

Medak recorded 2 goals, 4 assists and 6 points in 3 games with the Grrrowl last week... the rookie right wing from Edmonton, Alberta scored the game-winner and added an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over Charlotte... he recorded 2 assists in Saturday's 6-3 loss to Columbia... and he chipped in 1 goal and 1 assist in Sunday's win.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – JAYME PLATT

The Redmond, Washington native recorded 41 saves in Greenville's 5-2 win over Charlotte on Friday... he, then, stopped 19 of 21 shots in Sunday afternoon's 6-2 win over Augusta... he had a 2.00 GAA and a .937 SVPCT in the 2 games last week. Platt is 3-1-0 in his last 4 starts with a 1.50 GAA and a .954 SVPCT. last 4.

THIS WEEK – The Grrrowl play 4 games this week

The Greenville Grrrowl travel to Columbus on Tuesday for the 5th of 8 meetings with the Cottonmouths this season (7:30 PM, Newsradio 1330 & 950 WORD)... Friday, the Grrrowl travel to Greensboro to face the Generals for the first time this season (7:30 PM)... Then, it's back-to-back home games against the Florida Everblades on Saturday (7:05 PM) and Sunday afternoon (3:05 PM).

TUE. 12/10 at COLUMBUS – Greenville won the first two meetings, while Columbus won the next two...the Grrrowl and Cottonmouths are tied with 26 points each in the Southeast Division... they are 7-4-1 at home... Columbus has the 5th rated powerplay (23.1%) and the 25th rated penalty killing unit (77.3%)... they have allowed a league-high 7 shorthanded goals... their 4 shootout wins are the most in the league... FRI. 12/13 at GREENSBORO – The Grrrowl make their only visit to Greensboro this season on Friday night... the Generals are 8-2-1 at home... they have allowed a Northeast Division-low 65 goals against in 23 games... SAM FTOREK leads the ECHL with 11 powerplay goals...veteran goaltender DANIEL BERTHIAUME is second amongst goaltenders with 12 wins... fellow netminder JAMIE HODSON is 4th in the league with a .930 SVPCT... (7:30 pm) SAT. 12/14 vs. FLORIDA – These Southeast Division rivals prepare for their 2nd of 9 regular season meetings... the Everblades beat Greenville 4-1 at the BI-LO Center on 11/21... Florida and Greenville are tied with 26 points apiece in the division... the Everblades have played a Southern Conference-low 22 games compared to Greenville's 24... goaltender ROB ZEPP continues to lead the league with a 1.78 GAA and a .943 SVPCT in 15 games...
