The Nailers overcame a two-goal deficit and squandered a two-goal lead of their own before defeating the Dayton Bombers 1-0 in a shootout tonight at WesBanco Arena. Joe Guenther scored the only goal in the shootout while regulation ended in a 4-4 draw.
Joe Jensen, seeing his first action in Wheeling since December 5, scored two goals and added a fight in his best attempt to complete a Gordie Howe hat trick while leading the Nailers to the come-from-behind victory.

With 13:18 remaining in the second, Joe Jensen, who just returned from Wilkes-Barre, scored to tie the game at two and extend his ECHL scoring streak to nine games.
Jensen was posted just outside Berkhoel's crease when Jon Smyth found him from behind the net, and he ripped a shot past the Bomber's net-minder. Joe Guenther got the second assist.
Jensen gave the Nailers a 3-2 lead two and a half minutes later when he took another pass from Smyth and beat Berkhoel for his eighth goal of the year. Cody Blanshan earned the other assist.
Jordan Cameron scored his seventeenth goal of the season at 11:29 of the second to give the home team a two-goal lead.
Cameron blasted a slapper past Berkhoel after receiving a pass from Jon Foster. Ryan Moren was credited with the second assist.
