Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that the team will partner with WBT and the Keith Larson Show to present March Forth With Hope Foundation Night on Jan. 12 as the Checkers host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

The March Forth With Hope Foundation provides financial assistance to families battling cancer or other life-threatening diseases. The Foundation was established by Stuart and Shelby Stout in memory of their daughter, Hope Stout, shortly after she lost her courageous fight with cancer.

"We are so pleased to be dedicating this game to Hope Stout and her family," said Tera Black, Vice President of the Checkers. "The March Forth With Hope Foundation is near and dear to the Carolinas and we simply want to increase the awareness of what they do. It should be a great night where we can celebrate a local hero."

Information about the fundraiser for this game can be found through the March Forth With Hope web site at www.marchforthwithhope.org/news.asp.

In addition to the fundraiser, Stuart Stout will attend the game and will sign copies of his book "The Legacy of Hope - The Wisdom of Childlike Faith."

"The March Forth With Hope Foundation is excited to be affiliated with the Charlotte Checkers in helping us to provide financial assistance to families of children facing life threatening illnesses and injuries," said Stuart Stout.

The Checkers were pleased to partner with WBT and the Keith Larson Show to help raise awareness of the Foundation.

"The March Forth With Hope Foundation is a direct result of Hope Stout's desire to grant wishes for other seriously ill children, and help their families through the financial challenges of those illnesses," said Keith Larson. "As a huge fan of the Checkers, I am thrilled they are teaming up to help the March Forth With Hope Foundation and the Stout family. Help us keep the Spirit of Hope rocking on in the Carolinas - and I look forward to being at the game."
