Checkers Sign Matyas Man

The Charlotte Checkers announced today the team has signed defenseman Matyas Man to a one-year, two-way AHL contract.

Man, 20, spent the previous season in the Western Hockey League with the Prince Albert Raiders, scoring two goals and adding 11 assists in 53 games. The Ostrava, Czechia, native skated in 20 WHL postseason games, logging four points (two goals, two assists) as Prince Albert advanced to the WHL Championship Series, falling to the Everett Silvertips.

Prior to his junior hockey in North America, Man played four seasons in the HC Vitkovice organization, advancing from their under-17 program to their under-20 program from 2021-22 to 2024-25. He made his professional hockey debut for HC Vitkovice's Czech Extraliga team on March 4, 2025.

Man has represented Czechia internationally in the 2025 U-19 5-Nations Tournament and the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship.
