Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today that Falcons goaltender Ryan MacDonald has been named the RBC Financial ECHL Saver of the Month for December. It is the second league-wide honor for MacDonald in the last three days, after he was named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week on Wednesday.

The rookie won his last five games in the month as the Falcons extended their winning streak to a team record seven games. MacDonald finished December at 7-0-1 with goals-against average of 1.67 and a save percentage of .948, helping the Falcons into second place in the Pacific Division and third place in the National Conference.

In December the 5-foot-9 and 185-pound MacDonald was 3-0-1 at home and 4-0-0 on the road. He ranks sixth in the ECHL in goals-against average at 2.45 and second in save percentage of .928.

MacDonald becomes the second Falcon goaltender to capture the ECHL's monthly goaltender award, joining Brett Jaeger who was honored in February 2005.

The Falcons are back in action tonight, hosting the Victoria Salmon Kings at 7:30 p.m. The first 3,000 fans in attendance receive a 2007 Falcons Poster Calendar courtesy of Community Medical Center, Dumont Printing, and B95.
