Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have acquired forward Adam Edinger from the Long Beach Ice Dogs in exchange for Bo Cheesman.

Drafted by the New York Islanders in the fifth round (115th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Edinger is a highly skilled power forward who will strengthen the Nailers offense.

He tallied eight points this season for struggling Long Beach. Last season, the Toledo, OH native scored 51 goals and added 26 assists for the Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League. He was one of only three players in the league to top the 50-goal plateau.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound forward's last season in the ECHL was in 2003-2004 when he played for the Peoria Rivermen and was second on the team in scoring with 57 points in 63 games.

The Nailers take on the Bombers tonight at WesBanco Arena at 7:30 before playing the second game of a home and home tomorrow night in Dayton. The Nailers return home on Sunday to take on the rival Reading Royals at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets and ticket packages are available now by calling 304-234-GOAL, by visiting the Nailers team store located at 1315 Main St. in downtown Wheeling, or online at www.WheelingNailers.com.
