Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - For only the third time in Cincinnati Cyclones history the club was involved in a 1-0 game. Tonight, it was a victory and the tenth straight game without a regulation time loss. Rookie forward Mathieu Aubin netted his fourth goal of the season off a feed from Sam Ftorek for the lone goal of the contest. Aubin held the puck in the low slot and sent a soft shot between the legs of goaltender Jeff Pietresiak.

Cedrick Desjardins, the Cyclones rookie goalie headed to the ECHL All-Star Game later this month, stopped 23 shots. Desjardins has won his last eight starts at U.S. Bank Arena. In those eight games, Desjardins has posted two shutouts and allowed just ten goals during that span. Cedrick leads the ECHL in shutouts with four-second-most in a single season in Cyclones history. The team has not reached the halfway point of the season yet.

The Cyclones established a club record for consecutive games without a regulation time loss with the triumph-pushing the number to ten. Cincinnati is 9-0-1 in its last ten games. The record for consecutive home games without a regulation loss was nine (8-0-1) from Nov. 20 through Dec. 21, 2002. Cincinnati has not lost a game in regulation time at U.S. Bank Arena since dropping a 5-0 verdict to Dayton on Nov. 16. The Cyclones are 11-5-2 in all games since that night.

The Cyclones are now 16-12-1-1, for the North Division lead. Reading is now 14-15-0-4 and is in fourth place in the North Division. The Cyclones are next at U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday, January 6 when Reading resumes the two game series on NASCAR Night with Denny Hamlin faceoff is at 7:30pm.
