
Monsters Pick up Point in 4-3 Overtime Loss to Amerks

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Monsters fell to the Rochester Americans 4-3 in overtime on Saturday evening at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. With the overtime loss, the Monsters are now 35-22-4-3 and are currently in second place in the AHL's North Division standings.
Rochester's Linus Weissbach started the game with a goal at 1:27 of the opening period, but Luca Del Bel Belluz converted on the power play at 16:32 off feeds from Trey Fix-Wolansky and Nick Blankenburg to tie the score 1-1 heading into the first intermission. Following a scoreless middle frame, Justin Pearson score just 40 seconds into the third period with a helper from Josh Dunne to put the Monsters ahead. Fix-Wolansky added an unassisted tally at 3:52, but the Amerks responded with goals from Weissbach at 4:31 and Jiri Kulich on the man advantage at 8:13 to force the game to extra time. Rochester's Jeremy Davies scored just 21 seconds into overtime to bring the final score to 4-3.
Cleveland's Jet Greaves stopped 32 shots in defeat while Rochester's Dustin Tokarski made 15 saves for the win.
