
Miller Scores in Royals Road-Trip Finale Loss to Railers, 3-1

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals (11-18-4-0), proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, fell to the Worcester Railers (13-17-1-3), 3-2, at the DCU Center on Saturday, January 4th. Goaltender Keith Petruzzelli (4-11-3-0) suffered the loss in goal with 28 saves on 30 shots faced. Worcester's goaltender Hugo Ollas (3-7-0-1) earned the win in his Railers debut with 31 saves on 32 shots faced.
After a scoreless first period, Worcester scored two goals from Kolby Johnson (2) at 0:21 and Ryan Mahshie (2) at 6:29 into the middle frame to take a 2-0 lead. Matt Miller (5) put Reading on the board with a deflection on a Sam Sedley blue-line shot past Ollas at 13:26 of the second period. Miller's goal came on Reading's first of two power plays in the game and cut the deficit in half, 2-1.
Worcester sustained their one-goal lead despite allowing 14 shots on goal in the third period, all saved by Ollas. Anthony Callin (8) sealed the win for Worcester with an empty net goal at 18:12 to put the Railers up, 3-1.
The Royals return home to host the Trois-Rivières Lions for a three-game series on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th at 7 PM, as well as Sunday, January 12th at 3 PM. The home games feature the 'Fans Pick the Music Night,' Star Wars Night, and Dollar Savor Sunday promotional games, respectively.
