
Royals Seek Two-Game Series Sweep over Railers in Worcester

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, conclude a two-game road series against the Railers on Saturday, January 4th at 6:05 PM.
The Royals return home to host the Trois-Rivières Lions for a three-game series on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th at 7 PM, as well as Sunday, January 12th at 3 PM. The home games feature the 'Fans Pick the Music Night,' Star Wars Night, and Puck N' Pancakes promotional games, respectively.
Royals Right Now:
The Royals enter their seventh meeting of the season with the Railers (5-1-0) with an 11-17-4-0 record after defeating Worcester in a shootout, 4-3, on Friday, January 3rd. Matt Miller scored the lone goal of the three-round shootout while Vinnie Purpura stopped all three Worcester shootout attempts.
Defenseman Gianfranco Cassaro enters the series with a team-high 19 points and forward Todd Skirving leads Reading in goals (8) and defenseman Sam Sedley leads the Royals in assists (15).
Scouting the Railers:
Worcester enters the two-game series finale with a 12-17-1-3 record (28 points) through the first 33 games of their 2024-25 campaign. Prior to the series opener, the Railers split their two-game series against the Adirondack Thunder with a 7-3 loss on Saturday, December 29th before taking the second game on Sunday, December 30th, 6-5.
ECHL affiliates to the New York Islanders and Bridgeport Islanders, Worcester's offense is led by forward Anthony Repaci who has a team-high 19 goals and 40 points, which rank second and first in the league, respectively. Defenseman Connor Welsh leads Worcester in assists with 24 on the season.
