Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx have picked up some help on defense for this weekend with the addition of Brad Cook to the lineup.

Lynx fans may remember Cook from last season, as he appeared in 16 games for the Columbia Inferno with one assist and eight penalty minutes. The 5-10, 190 lb. rearguard hails from Southgate, Michigan, but now lives in Victoria and was able to join the club for this weekend's action.

"It was a situation where (Cook) had been working out with the Salmon Kings and actually played a game with the team," said Lynx head coach Bob Ferguson. "But after the coaching change, he was let go by the club. He's a very smart, heads-up player, and we're happy to have him in the lineup tonight."

Augusta will finish a three-game set against the Victoria Salmon Kings with contests tonight and Saturday night at 10:05 pm. The Lynx next home game will be next Friday night against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:35 pm. The Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show kicks off one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
