Inferno Sign Veteran Defenseman

COLUMBIA, SC (February 3, 2006) - The Columbia Inferno announce that the team has signed defenseman Brian Stacey to a contract.

Stacey, 6'3, 205 lbs., Oshawa, Ontario native played 30 games this season with Bad Nauheim EC of the German Second Division. He scored three goals and had two assists. Prior to playing in Europe, Stacey spent time with the Texas Wildcatters during the 2003-2005 seasons. He played a total of 80 games, scoring seven goals and 25 assists with 38 penalty minutes. He also played for the Fresno Falcons at the end of the 2004-05 season skating in seven games and scoring three points (1g-2a).

Other transactions: Defenseman Chris Cava is activated off of the IR, after missing 13 games...Forward Andy Berg was waived from the Inferno roster.
