Ice Pilots Lose 4-3 to Phoenix

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots lost 4-3 to the Phoenix RoadRunners on Friday night in front of 3,196 fans at the Pensacola Civic Center.

Nick Lindberg scored the first goal of the game at the 11:18 mark of the first period to give the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead. Brendan Cook scored two goals in the first 24 seconds of the second period to give the Ice Pilots a 3-0 lead. Cook scored at the ten second mark and scored on a power play at the 24 second mark.

Adam Kosticska scored for Phoenix at the 13:05 mark to make it a 3-1 game after two periods of play. Phoenix scored three goals in the third one each by Miguel Lafleche, Joe Dusbabek and Ben Knopp to win 4-3.

The Ice Pilots had 17 shots on goal, 15 penalty minutes and went 1-6 on the power play. Phoenix had 47 shots on goal, 29 penalty minutes and went 0-2 on the power play. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots and Mike Mole was the winning goalie for Phoenix.

The Ice Pilots record drops to 16-24-3 for 35 points and Phoenix improves their record to 16-24-3 for 35 points.

The Ice Pilots will play at Gwinnett on Saturday night at 6:35 p.m. central time and return home on Friday, February 10 vs. Florida at 7:05 p.m.
