Atlanta Gladiators News Release


The Gladiators will be looking for their sixth consecutive win tonight against the South Carolina Stingrays after a 5-4 victory over the Charlotte Checkers last night in Charlotte. Gwinnett now has 61 points in the top spot in the ECHL's South Division extending their lead over the idle second place Florida Everblades by 7 points. See Scooby Doo!

The Famous Great Dane Scooby Doo will be making his second ever Arena at Gwinnett Center Appearance on Friday, February 3rd when the Gladiators host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:35 p.m. Comcast and Cartoon Network are presenting Scooby's appearance.

On the Air

The Gladiators, in conjunction with B2-Networks, will provide a video web cast of every game during the regular season for just $6 a view. Fans can access the web cast 10 minutes prior to game time by logging onto www.gwinnettgladiators.com. Don't miss the first of two Kids Replica Jersey nights on Saturday, February 4th when the Gladiators host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:35 p.m. The first 2,000 kids ages 10 and under will receive a Gladiators replica "Home" jersey courtesy of ABCO Security, Kicks 101.5, Tires Plus and the Gwinnett Daily Post at the game.

Tuesday Night Hockey

The Gladiators host the Greenville Grrrowl on Tuesday, February 7th at the Arena at Gwinnett Center at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday Night Hockey is sponsored by radio station 680 AM The Fan. Season Series Gwinnett is 2-1-0 against the Stingrays this season. South Carolina's only win came back on November 25th by an 8-7 margin in North Charleston. Gwinnett has won the last two meetings and the only meeting at the Arena at Gwinnett Center this year.

Jersey Swap

The ECHL Jersey swap occurred during the ECHL All Star Break and the home team will now wear the "dark" jerseys at home while the road team will wear the "light" jerseys away from home. Gwinnett was in the while jersey Saturday in Columbia and in dark jerseys in Sunday's game against the Inferno. The jerseys will revert back to light jerseys at home and dark jerseys on the road for the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

South Carolina Lately

After snapping a 10 game losing streak against the Gladiators on November 25th, South Carolina has not lost consecutive games in regulation. The Stingrays are 4-1-0 in their last five games and have lost in regulation just twice in their last 13 games.

Stingray Leaders

Brad Parsons leads the Stingrays in scoring with 38 points on the season off of 12 goals and 26 assists in 39 games. His 26 assists is tops on the Stingrays this season while Jeff Legue's 13 goals leads the Stingrays in that category. Maxime Daigneault has seen action in a team-high 29 games this season for the Stingrays where he has posted an 11-10-7 record and a 3.23 goals against average.

Gladiators leaders

Adding three assists in last night's 5-4 win over Charlotte, Jeff Campbell continues to lead the Gladiators in scoring with 54 points on the season. The Hensall, Ontario, native shares first in assists with Troy Milam as both players have posted 36 helpers on the year. Sean Fields has seen action in a team high 29 games this season for the Gladiators where he has posted a 20-6-3 record.
