TRENTON, NJ (February 2, 2006) - The Trenton Titans announced on Friday that goaltender Rejean Beauchemin has been recalled by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL).
The 20-year old rookie netminder has posted a 3-7-1 record for Trenton with a 3.01 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Beauchemin was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round (191st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Beauchemin is 3-6-1 with the Phantoms this season, while also compiling a 2.55 GAA and a .918 save percentage
In separate transactions, defenseman Peter Tormey has been placed on the 7-day IR, while defenseman Rosario Ruggeri has been transferred to the 30-day IR.
On the IR since December 30, 2005, Ruggeri, 21, has registered eight points (2g, 6a) in 23 games. Now in his second year of pro hockey, the Montreal, Quebec-native was a fourth round draft pick (#105 overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2002 NHL Draft.
Tormey, 25, heads to the IR for the second time this season. The rookie defenseman has chipped in two goals and an assist in 38 games for Trenton. Hailing from Bourne, MA, Tormey was a four-year letterman for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
The Titans and Toledo Storm due battle on the red ice again on Saturday, February 4 at 7:00pm.
