LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that defenseman Kevin Truelson has been acquired for financial considerations from the Gwinnett Gladiators. He is expected to be in the lineup for the Ice Dogs' game versus the Victoria Salmon Kings on Wednesday.

Truelson, a 6'1", 208 pound defenseman from Weymouth, Massachusetts, began the year in Fresno, playing in 14 games and recording 2 goals, 5 assists and 12 penalty minutes. He was then traded to Gwinnett where he played in 6 games with 0 points and 5 penalty minutes. Last season as Fresno's only All-Star selection, Truelson registered 31 points in 64 games and 37 penalty minutes.

"We're excited for him to return to Southern California" said Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Malcolm Cameron. "It's great being able to get an All-Star player without having to give someone up in return at this time of year. We're very excited to have him."

Prior to signing with the Fresno Falcons last season, Truelson played four years at the University of New Hampshire where he had 8 goals, 32 assists and 92 penalty minutes in 130 games.

The Ice Dogs next home game is Wednesday at 7 PM versus the Victoria Salmon Kings. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
