Van Burkirk Returns from Chicago

Atlanta Gladiators News Release


The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk has been reassigned to the team from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League and defenseman Kevin Truelson has been traded to the Long Beach Ice Dogs for financial consideration.

Called up to the Wolves on December 18th, Van Buskirk appeared in 4 games with Chicago where he tallied an assist and recorded 2 penalty minutes.

The defenseman returns to the Gladiators where shares 3rd in scoring among defensemen with the Gladiators posting 1 goal and 8 assists for 9 points in 19 games with the Gladiators this season.

Truelson did not record a point in 6 games with the Gladiators this season after being acquired from the Fresno Falcons in exchange for Sam Ftorek on November 29th.

Last season with Fresno, Truelson represented the Falcons at the 2004 ECHL All Star game in Peoria, Illinois.

Van Buskirk should be available for the Gladiators for Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. contest against the Louisiana IceGators.
