Wheeling Nailers News Release

Wheeling, WV – The Wheeling Nailers announced today that Friday, January 14th will be "turn back the clock night" at the Nailers game at WesBanco Arena.

"Turn back the clock night" will feature the Nailers' players wearing Wheeling Thunderbirds jerseys and the return of team organist Dan Wheeler. Dan, a fixture with the franchise during its early years, will return Friday night to entertain the crowd while the Nailers play host to the Johnstown Chiefs. Face-off is set for 7:30pm.

At the conclusion of the game, a jersey auction of the Thunderbirds jerseys will commence in the arena with a live auction. Interested fans will have the ability to bid on game-worn jerseys at that time. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Golden Spike Association Ticket for Kids.

Founded in 2000, the Golden Spike Association Tickets for Kids, through the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, provides free tickets to Wheeling Nailers games for organizations like Big Brother/Big Sisters, St. Michael's Parish School, Youth Services of Ohio County, and Belmont County Educational Services.

Tickets are available through the Nailers office or the WesBanco Arena box office.

"Dan Wheeler is excited to be making a return appearance this Friday night," stated Rob Brooks, president of the Nailers franchise. "This could not be a better night for Dan to come back with our promotion that evening centered around turning back the clock and our players wearing the Thunderbirds retro jerseys," Brooks went on to say.
