No hats for this trick! Forward Chris Durno recorded three assists for the Gladiators in Friday's 5-4 shootout win in Augusta. For Durno, it was his 8th multiple point game this season and his second consecutive 3-point night. With an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss against Augusta, Durno has now posted at least one assist in each of the Gladiators last four games.

Helping Out: Gladiators forward Kris Goodjohn continues to pick up assists and leads the team with 26 helpers on the season. Goodjohn tallied two assists in the Gladiators 5-4 shootout win on Friday at Augusta and picked up an assist in Saturday's 3-2 loss against the Lynx. Goodjohn has now also tallied at least one assist in each of the team's past four games. Goodjohn has recorded an assist in 18 of 28 games this season for the Gladiators.

All Stars: Gladiators head coach Jeff Pyle was voted to his second consecutive ECHL All Star game while rookie forwards Brett Engelhard and Jeff Campbell along with Jim Jackson were named to the American Conference Squad. Jackson's four power play tallies lead the Gladiators in that category. Campbell is among the top 10 ECHL rookies in scoring adding a goal and an assist in the Gladiators 5-4 shootout win Friday night in Augusta. Brett Engelhardt is currently on loan to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League. With St. John's since December 14th, Engelhardt shares first with the Gladiators in goals scored with 14 on the season playing in just 21 games with Gwinnett. Jeff Pyle makes his second straight trip to an ECHL All Star game after serving as co-coach for the Western Conference in a 7-6 loss last season in Peoria, Illinois. The 2005 Coors Light ECHL All Star game is scheduled for January 26th at 7:05 p.m. at the Sovereign Center in Reading, P.A.

First in the Pros: Gladiators rookie forward Alex Sawruk tallied his first professional point in the Gladiators 5-4 win over the Augusta Lynx on Friday night. Sawruk tallied an assist on the Gladiators second goal, moving the puck along to Mike Vigilante before the puck was thrown in front of the net were Mike Stathopoulos chipped it home. Sawruk tallied 7 goals and 9 assists last season at Northern Michigan in 35 games.

January 7th, Gladiators 5, Augusta 4 – SOW

Chris Durno and Rick Emmett scored in the shootout for the Gladiators while Sean Fields turned aside four Augusta shooters to help the Gladiators pick up the 5-4 shootout win. Jeff Campbell and Mike Stathopoulos scored 66 seconds apart in the first period to give Gwinnett a 2-0 lead. Augusta scored the next three goals to take a 3-2 lead before Rick Emmett tied the game up. Augusta regained the lead late in the third period before Brad Schell sent the game to overtime with his 3rd goal of the season with 36 seconds left in the 3rd period. Chris Durno recorded 3 assists while Kris Goodjohn chipped in 2 helpers for the Gladiators in the win. Alex Sawruk recorded his first professional point in the win, an assist, on the Gladiators second goal.

January 8th, Augusta 3, Gladiators 2 – L

Augusta tallied two shorthanded goals, the first 2 minutes into the contest, to pick up the win. Jim Jackson scored the Gladiators first goal, early in the second period to tie the game at one. Augusta rattled off two goals early in the third, the second shorthanded, before Dave McCulloch scored with 24 seconds left in the game. Chris Goodjohn and Chris Durno each picked up an assists to push their respective assists streaks to four games.

Tuesday, January 11th, vs. Louisiana IceGators, 7:05 p.m. – WDUN, News Talk 550

Louisiana makes its first trip to the Arena at Gwinnett Center since the Gladiators beat the IceGators 5-4 in double overtime in game 4 of the Central Division finals to eliminate Louisiana. The Gladiators lead the season series 3-1-0, winning all 4 games at the Cajundome.

Friday, January 14th, vs. South Carolina Stingrays, 7:35 p.m. – wdun.com

It's kids cap night as the Gladiators host the Stingrays at 7:35 p.m. The first 2,000 kids ages 12 and under will receive a free Gladiators team logo cap courtesy of Kia Mall of Georgia and Star 94 FM. After a slow start and a 2-0 deficit, the Gladiators steamrolled past the Stingrays in the only meeting of the season, 8-4, on Thanksgiving night.

Saturday, January 15th, vs. Mississippi Sea Wolves, 7:35 p.m. – WDUN, News Talk 550

It's the Gladiators 2nd annual Teddy Bear Toss night to benefit local children's charities. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game and toss it onto the ice following the Gladiators first goal. Teddy Beat Toss is presented by Star 94 FM, The Brand Bank Co., Bell South Shared Web Hosting, AJC Gwinnett News and Custom Laser Eye. The Gladiators are 2-1-1 this season against the Sea Wolves. Gwinnett's both wins came at home at the Arena at Gwinnett Center
