The Johnstown Chiefs (13-8-9; 35 PTS; T-4th North div.) fell into a tie with Toledo for fifth place in the North division after going 1-2-0 last week. With all three games at home last week the Chiefs were only able to pick up a win Sunday against Reading. They had losses to Bakersfield and Trenton. This week the Chiefs will once again play three games in three nights. Friday they travel to Wheeling, followed up with a home game Saturday night against Toledo and sunday afternoon with Wheeling.

Game #28 (1/7/04) Trenton 5 - JOHNSTOWN 2 Hildenbrand Goal, Assist

Scott Bertoli had a hat trick and an assist to lead the visiting Trenton Titans to a 5-2 win over the Johnstown Chiefs Friday night at the War Memorial. Trenton jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period with goals from Connor Dunlop, Rick Kowalsky and Bertoli. The Chiefs got a second period power play goal from Joe Tallari. Steve Hildenbrand scored at 3:02 in the third period for the Chiefs. David Cann started in goal for the Chiefs playing in the first period allowing three goals while making nine saves. David Currie played the final two periods allowing two goals, stopping thirteen Titans shots including a penalty shot by Mathieu Brunelle in the second period.

Game #29 (1/8/05) Bakersfield 4 - JOHNSTOWN 1 Currie 31 Saves

The Johnstown Chiefs dropped their third straight home game Saturday night as they fell to the Bakersfield Condors 4-1. Adam Henrich scored the lone Johnstown goal. David Currie made 31 saves for the Chiefs. Bakersfield goaltender Yutaka Fukufugi made 25 saves.

Game #30 (1/9/05) JOHNSTOWN 4 - Reading 1 Tarabrin Goal, Assist

Dmitri Tarabrin had a shorthanded goal and an assist to lead the Johnstown Chiefs to a 4-1 win Sunday night at the War Memorial Arena. The win ended the Chiefs two game losing streak. Steve Hildenbrand, Chad Cavanagh and Joe Tallari also scored for Johnstown. Cail MacLean scored the lone Reading goal in the contest. Chiefs goaltender David Currie was the games #2 star making 31 saves and posting his 9th win of the season. Barry Brust made 18 saves for the Royals.

Friday night the Chiefs hit the road when they go to Wheeling to take on the Nailers (19-12-2, 40 PTS; 3rd North div.). This is the third of eight games this season between the two teams. The Chiefs are 1-1-0 against the Nailers this season and 50-46-12 all-time.

Saturday night the Chiefs host the Toledo Storm (16-13-3, 35 PTS; T-5th North div.) for the fourth time this season. The Chiefs are 2-1-0 against the Storm this season and 34-34-10 all-time. Toledo is 6-4-0 in their last ten games. NOTE: Due to the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL playoff game Saturday afternoon, the game time has been moved to 8:00 p.m. from 7:00 p.m.

- Mike James is fifth among ECHL rookies with 106 PIM. 76 of James' PIM's have come on home ice.

- Joe Tallari has three goals in his last five games.

- All five of the Chiefs shorthanded goals have come at home this season.
