Grizzlies win 2-1 Over Phoenix

The Utah Grizzlies made it seven wins in a row Friday night and improved to 9-3 on the season, with a 2-1 victory over the Phoenix RoadRunners at the E-Center.

Barret Ehgoetz got the game-winner for the Grizzlies at 17:46 of the third period, with assists going to James Laux and Erkki Rajamaki.

The Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead at 17:46 of the second period when Erkki Rajamaki blasted a slapshot from the circle, scoring his first goal in a Utah uniform in his E-Center debut. He was assigned to Utah by the St. Louis Blues last week.

Phoenix tied the game early in the third off of a Utah turnover with Chris Hodgson re-directing a Dusty Demianiuk shot from the point.

Justin Eddy stopped 20 of 21 shots from the RoadRunners improving to 2-1 on the year. The Grizzlies peppered 41 shots on RoadRunners netminder Mike Mole who dropped to 0-5-2.

Ehgoetz and Rajamaki each had multi-point nights (1 goal, 1 assist) for the Grizzlies, who return home tomorrow hosting the RoadRunners once again. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
