TRENTON, NJ - Leading 1-0 in the third period, the Trenton Titans could not hold off the Wheeling Nailers who came back for a 2-1 victory in the shootout in front of 4,491 at Sovereign Bank Arena.

It would take 50:21 for the first goal of the game to be scored. Scott May fed Chris Thompson with a breakaway pass that the captain put past Andy Franck for his sixth goal of the season and 1-0 Titans edge.

A delay of game penalty assessed to Trenton with 1:56 left in regulation gave the Nailers a 6-on-4 power play where Jordan Cameron beat Rejean Beauchemin at the far post to tie the score.

The two teams would skate through the overtime and into the shootout where Pat Verbeek tallied the lone goal for Wheeling and Franck stopped all five Trenton shooters to clinch the win.

Beachemin stopped 43 shots in his first action as a Trenton Titan, while Franck turned away 30 of 31.

The Titans start a stretch of five games in six days with a match against the Reading Royals on Tuesday, November 22 at 7:05pm at the Sovereign Center.
