Ferreira Placed On IR; Trio Signed For Friday's Game Vs. Bakersfield

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced the following roster moves Friday afternoon: Chet Ferreira has been placed on the seven-day injured list, while Jason Courtemanche, Justin Silver and Matt Kunsman have been signed.

Ferreira left Thursday's game in Bakersfield with a knee injury and will miss at least the next three games. The rookie defenseman has played eight games this season with San Diego, registering no points and 16 penalty minutes.

Courtemanche has 338 career games under his belt, including 156 with both the ECHL and West Coast Hockey League Gulls. The veteran defenseman played in three games for San Diego last season, recording no points and two penalty minutes. Courtemanche ranks fourth all-time on the Gulls with 856 penalty minutes.

Silver suited up for three games last season with the Gulls, also recording no points and two penalty minutes. Kunsman will make his professional debut for San Diego Friday.

Jesse Bennefield also remains on the seven-day injured list after sustaining a shoulder injury Sunday against the Phoenix Roadrunners. He was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and will miss at least two more games.
