Phoenix RoadRunners News Release

West Valley City, Utah - Barret Ehgoetz tallied the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal 13:42 into the third period and added an assist to lead the Utah Grizzlies to a 2-1 victory over the Phoenix RoadRunners before 3703 at the E-Center in ECHL action Friday.

After a scoreless first period, Utah (9-3-0) struck first when Erkki Rajamaki received the puck in the slot from Ehgoetz and beat RoadRunners goaltender Mike Mole with a shot over the blocker at 17:46 of the second period to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead.

Phoenix (3-7-2) netted the equalizer just 4:50 into the third period. Chris Hodgson re-directed Dusty Demianiuk's shot from the right point and past Utah's goaltender Justin Eddy to tie the game at 1-1. However, Eghoetz sealed the win when his wrist shot from the high slot trickled off Mole's glove and into the net with 6:18 remaining in regulation to give the Grizzlies a 2-1 win.

Utah out-shot Phoenix 41-21. Mole stopped 39 shots in dropping to 0-5-2 on the season. The RoadRunners went 0-2 on the power play and held the Grizzlies to 0-3.
