Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today the signing of forward Aaron Plumb. The 27-year-old Plumb will be in the lineup tonight when the Steelheads take on the Salmon Kings in Victoria.

Plumb, a native of Shawnigan, British Columbia, played in 26 contests last season with the Salmon Kings, registering five assists and 60 penalty minutes.

With four players currently on the injured list and three skaters called up to the Iowa Stars, the Steelheads AHL affiliate, the team needed a player to fill out its game-night roster for tilts Friday and Saturday night in Victoria.

"He's a big guy who gives us some toughness," Steelheads head coach and director of hockey operations, Derek Laxdal said. "He's the type of guy that will be an extra body in case we get in some trouble during these two games."

Laxdal coached Plumb in Wichita of the Central Hockey League, when Laxdal took over the Thunder midway through the 2002-2003 campaign, as he embarked on his first head coaching job. With Plumb on the roster, the Steelheads now have 16 active skaters and two goaltenders.

The remaining two contests of the team's road trip can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1350 KTIK, The Ticket, on Friday and Saturday night at 8:05 pm MST with the voice of the Steelheads, Joe O'Donnell.

Idaho returns home to take on the expansion Utah Grizzlies on November 25th and 26th at Qwest Arena.
